Fun and games at East Sandwich Game Farm

Our family hiking series continued yesterday with a jaunt down the road to the East Sandwich Game Farm. We walked in along an old paved road, meandering through clearing and past recently renovated cottages to a bridge over the creek. We decided to make that our turning point, given how we nearly wore Mason and Benjamin out during the Ellisville hikes.

On the way back we took a detour through the woods via the Marshview Trail, one of many marked trails on the property. We were quite amazed by this open-space treasure. Clearly others were in on the secret, as we did pass several families and dog walkers along the way. We'd never been there previously, though, despite living little more than 3 miles away.

All of us were in agreement that we should return, especially when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy a picnic, explore some of the other trails and try out our new fishing gear.
