Snow cocoon

Little to no accumulation was predicted in weather reports we saw through yesterday afternoon, but it was clear by last night that the storm had blown a little further inland than forecasters initially thought.

I started heading to Hyannis at 5:30 last night to pick up Sam, and turned around after a few miles, because I couldn't see more than a few feet in front of the car with all of the blowing snow.

In the end, we got a foot, with drifts galore. Couldn't even get outside from the most-used door from the mudroom/home office this morning. I instead had to utilize the more formal, little-used front door to even get out to shovel this morning.

I took a couple of photos after I cleared the office window to let in a little more light. But with the skylight still completely covered, the light is still quite eerie in here today.

Of course, it is a snow day for the kids, and they are quite pleased to be home. I'm sure my co-workers are pleased, too, as the screams from the kitchen echo in the conference calls. It's the second consecutive Monday off for them. Ah, to be young again.
